Weekly reflection 1 May 5
This week: 15/50 hours.
I have learned a lot this past week interning with the Communications department. My past three years here I have seen Proctor as a school and a place where I live, learn and have friends. This past week I have stepped out of this world and am starting to see Proctor as more a business. The way our school is communicated to the public is extremely important and there are many people that we need to show what’s going on at school to. So far I’ve enjoyed working with the Proctor instagram and producing stories. I feel like my generation are the most skilled people in the world at social media having grown up with it at our fingertips. For me to be able to run it, I feel that I can adequately show the kinds of things students want to see out of their School’s social media. Along with this I enjoyed working on the parent page. I was able to ask students for the question of the week which I had fun doing. I have done a lot of work this week with Blog posts, Social media work, Parent pages and photography but I have learned that this is the kind of work I enjoy doing. Not having math classes or burdensome homework every night has shown me that work can be fun. The goal of my internship is to give me exposure to what the world of Communications is like. Since I have chosen to major in this in college, I am excited that I am enjoying what I’m doing.

Neal, that's great you've been learning some new skills here and getting a peak into the 'work world'. Keep it up! -Erik
